La Plaza Shopping is the main shopping mall in Ibarra, Ecuador. This two-story building, constructed 17 years ago, had never been remodeled. There was a high demand from customers for restrooms on the ground floor. With an open space at the back of the facade, we decided to create a tunnel through an existing commercial unit to complete this project.

The goal of the remodeling was to ensure it would last over time, so we achieved it with a modern and timeless design, using neutral colors. The hallway was designed with LED lighting and neutral tones, consistent with the overall aesthetic of the shopping mall’s renovation
