La Plaza Shopping is the main shopping mall in Ibarra, Ecuador. Built 17 years ago, it had never been remodeled. The goal of this project was to create a design that would stand the test of time, so we opted for a modern and timeless aesthetic, using neutral colors to maintain a contemporary look, in line with the client’s wishes. We upgraded everything from the ceiling to the floor tiles and lighting. To reduce visual clutter, we harmonized the shop signage within the food court. The furniture was another key update—fixed tables were installed to maintain order in the food court, while flexible seating areas were introduced in family zones, allowing people to rearrange tables and chairs for larger gatherings when needed.
